Konzum in Ústí nad Orlicí was the third 24/7 store in the COOP Group. The opportunity to implement an unattended solution came at an opportune moment when the cooperative decided to reconstruct its own building – to build a new modern grocery store in the lower part and to prepare the upper part for rent to other retail operators.
The grocery store relied on innovative design, a high proportion of regional food and a new customer experience using unattended 24/7 technology, i.e. with the freedom for customers to shop at any time of the day or night.
The Konzum 24/7 store in Ústí nad Orlicí soon found its fans, who shop seamlessly using a mobile app registered to Bank Identity. The operator’s introduction of this new sales model has resulted in a 12-15% increase in sales, and thanks to the positive experience of this first location, four more stores have been implemented in the Konzum network, with several more in the pipeline. Konzum has also become the first franchisor of a community store that can bring store revitalization combined with automation to many of the more remote locations in the rural areas of the country.
